Things Are Running Late
Wy wife has been pregnant (strangely enough) for about 9 months now. In fact, she's now (technically - it's ten past midnoght now at the time of writing) 3 days overdue.
With our first child, she came our exactly spot on the due date. I was thinking that it would pretty cool if it could happen again - but the odds of that are pretty damn slim :)
The waiting game has definately started. Each night when I leave work, the last thing I've been doing is emailing the people involved in whatever major crisis is currently going on, with instructions for how to deal with it if I don't appear the following morning - because no matter what the crisis is, if i'm in the delivery room, i ain't leaving! And every morning I've shown up at work and had to deal with the crisis myself. But you get that.
I've decided that I'm possibly jinxing myself. So when I left work tonight, I only left instructions on how to do something that I've been researching, but left no crisis sitting for morning. Hopefully this means that she pops over the weekend.
Issy is getting excited about the baby coming. All the excitement of the baby coming soon is certainly wearing her out - come bed time, she's been flaking out pretty quickly, no matter else she's been doing.
I do have a plan, however. The digital cameras (one video, one still) are sitting fully charged ready to go to the hospital with us, and while my boss is away for the weekend down the snow, I have his laptop too. If, perchance, the hospital has a wireless hotspot available (no idea) I'm fully equipped to get the birth blogged in possibly a world record time :)
Watch this space. I doubt I'm going to be doing much technical blogging over the next few days - there's (dare I say it?) more important things to worry about right now.
