A Busy Day With Two Surprises
Wow. Been a pretty day. Two cool things.
First, I won a book. Yay me! Chuck had a question about some strange behaviour in ASP.net 2.0, and strangely enough I found the answer. He asked the aus-dotnet mailing list if anyone could figure it out, and threw in a book (Writing Secure Code) as an incentive. Woot! I got it!(well, I'll get it in the post, anyway :) You can read about it on his blog. I think all it ends up being is some unclear documentation.
So that's cool thing number one.
Cool thing number two? This one is so much cooler than call thing number one :)
Welcome to the world Samantha Joan Appleby. I thought my wife's labour with our first child was fast, but this time it went from first contraction to baby delivered in under 10 hours. Most impressive.
Some stats for those that care (like my mother for example :)
Born: 26 July, 2005 at 2.45pm.
Weight: 3500 grams (7 pounds, 11 ounces)
Height: 50 cm.
Head circumference: 33.5 cm.
Sex: with a name like Samantha, you'd hope it's a girl :)
In all the excitement, I did remember to take some photos (but probably not enough to keep everyone happy :)
But the best bit was once Sam's big sister arrived - I think they were both stoked to meet each other face to face finally.
More pics can be found in the gallery for the baby. I'll be adding to it as I get them uploaded.
I've already been inspired for my next submission to the TechEd Flair Competition that MS Australia is running.
