From memory its hosted on their server, but it could be a start.

Probably off track, but I've got an asp.net redirector that will take stuff like pictures.foo.com and blogs.foo.com and response.redirect to user specifiable paths like foo.com/gallery and foo.com/blog. We use it at the root level of our server so we can hand out easy urls like demo.optimanet.com and have it go somewhere slightly harder to remember. Hit me up at daniel at redgum dot com dot au if you want a copy of the code. Its not rocket science, I whipped it up in an hour or so, but its proven to be handy.

To answer your question, in ZoneEdit you can setup different redirects for different sub domains just like you're after. They call these "WebForwards". You can forward any number of subdomains to either URLs or IP addresses on the Internet. (A records). http://www.zoneedit.com/doc/faq.html#faq34

Another very useful feature are MailForwards. You can setup a catch-all to forward to your current email address. Or if you're very keen, you can run your own mailserver and have ZoneEdit act as the backup MX for it.

While I'm here, they also offer a Dynamic DNS service. You setup a DNS record, say myserver.mydomain.com then on your server at home with a dynamic IP address, you run a program that updates the DNS records every time you get a new IP address. This way you can access your home connection from anywhere without having to guess the IP / purchase a static IP.

As for the aussie domain name, you dont have to choose a domain name the same as your business name. You can choose a domain name that matches a product of your business. Seeing that you can have any product you want... thats the way around the strict aussie domain name thingy. Make a "product" with the name you want, then apply... :)

Yeah it looks like everyone already told you about Godaddy.com. I have them do my email, registration and DNS, which is nice because I only have one place to go to manage it all.
