A Vista Vision for Darren- Performance Ratings
Darren, on the TechTalkBlog, is after submissions of Vista Visions - simple examples of cool new stuff. Well, here's my first contribution.
When you first install Vista on your computer, it might not be running quite as fast as you expected - or faster, even. If you want to see how your hardware compares to Microsoft's idea of a typical setup, have a look at your performance rating. To see it, right click on Computer (the Vista version of My Computer) and select properties. One of the things listed is your rating, and a link to view it in full - Windows System Performance Rating. Click the link and up it comes.

From what I can tell, all scores are out of 5(Thanks Grant). So my ratings for CPU, Hard Drive, Graphics and Games are all average or bettter - but my RAM is letting me down.
This I find amusing actually - I've got a gig and a half, and it only scores a 2.7? Sheesh!
