Four Things To Remember
1) Unlike back in high school, bus drivers these days are friendly. Ask them for help figuring out how to pay for your ride, and they're happy to help. I can remember 12-15 years ago that you only had to blink for the driver to get pissed off. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I'm not wearing a school uniform this time :) Also, buses are much more comfortable than I remember them to be. This one that I'm on even has funky hydraulics so that it tips to it's side when it stops so that the step on and off isn't so high. Cool :)
2) Get better shoes. I have bad feet - I'm flat footed which causes aches and pains in my legs especially if I've been busy during the day. I also get tendon issues across the soles of my right foot if I'm not careful. Normal leather business shoes are the worst at provoking this - as a result, I wear black 'leather-like' sneakers. When waiting at a bus stop during the day (something I'm likely to be doing more and more of now) there's not many places to keep your feet out of the sun. These shoes get REALLY hot when you stand in the sun. My toes are freakin burnt!
3) When running a laptop on batteries, turn the brightness of the screen down. It makes the batteries last longer.
4) Must remember to wash this laptop really well. I found out yesterday that before I took ownership, it used to Mitch's. :) OK, so the screen needs cleaning anyway from picking up lots of dust in the air when working outside, but that's besides the point!
