The Magic Fix
A few weeks ago I was discussing with Matty Cosier a new job I was starting that was going to involve doing some Biztalk 2006 work. He said that if I had any troubles with it then I could give him a call since he's used it before.
Yesterday I had a trouble. There was two us working on a proof of concept orchestration. We'd made a reference to a web service, configured the port for it, and called it successfully from the orchestration we were writing. Then we added another web method and needed to call that new one too. So we updated the web reference and...no sign of the new method. It was there in the updated wsdl, and some other associated files, but the port didn't update. The only way we'd found to deal with it so far was to delete the port and the web reference and recreate it.
Normally at this point I'd give Bill Chesnut a call, but since he's on leave at the moment I though I'd put Matty to the test- so I gave him a call. Matty answered, I told him we had a problem, and then I looked up at the screen and everything was correct. The guy I was working with doesn't know what he did, but everything was now as we expected it to be. We think it might have been telling it to update the web reference twice, but we won't know until we add yet another method :)
Matty, I'm impressed. I didn't even get a chance to tell you what the problem was, and you fixed it! Keep up the good work dude :)
