All Quiet on the Blogging Front
Things have been really quiet around here lately.
Well, there's been a lot going on. Up until I started my christmas break, work has been really busy. Once my break started, I've been staying home with my eldest daughter while she's on school holidays. We've been doing lots of stuff like going to the movies and different parks and things, so that's been tiring me out too :)
A little while ago I found out that my marriage wasn't as solid as I thought it was, and my wife and kids moved out 3 or 4 weeks ago. It's been a pretty crappy time coming to terms with it, especially since it happened so fast and I had no idea it was coming. I'm still coming to terms with it actually, but I get to see my girls almost every day (at least, while it's the holidays I've been able to - things will probably be really different and suck a hell of a lot harder when I'm back at work).
So christmas wasn't that crash hot for me, but shit happens I suppose. I hate whiney 'poor me' posts, but there's no point keeping all this a secret any longer either. I did get plenty of gift vouchers for christmas, so I've been out shopping buying some of the stuff I need that is now missing that Jordie took with her.
I'm back at work in another week or so, so the blogging end of things might pick up again once i'm playing with code again all day.
On the geek side of things, I now have a new laptop which rocks pretty hard. It's a Dell Latitude D820 that I maxed out as much as possible, and runs pretty fast indeed. Vista seems quite smooth on it too :)
A few things have been breaking lately on crankygoblin, and the other night I sat down to try to fix them - to discover that in the transition to the new laptop I seem to have lost some source code - the biggest of which is the source for crankygoblin! So I think I've got some work to do, getting the latest copy of the CS SDK and patching gaptcha back in (I don't think I can be bothered with most of the other mods I've done).
So that's me at the moment - got some coding to do, the house is really quiet at night, and I'm probably drinking too much, but it'll smooth out over time, I'm sure :)
